If you’re in need of a lesson you can bring outdoors, I have the perfect one for you. The Gardening Unit Study for Preschool is a fantastic way to teach so many skills such as agriculture, nature, math, counting, literacy, color sorting and more in a multi-sensory approach. And you can do this all in your backyard or a special field trip.

Sometimes we all need ideas to bring the learning outdoors. You can bring your littles to an actual garden as part of this curriculum. Get your gardening done while you have them sort vegetables, count seeds and name the different flowers for literacy. You can also ask them to sell you some produce as part of dramatic play and math learning. Have them sort and color pretend worms and then look for the real thing. There are so many possibilities and ways to make this lesson and learning fun all while getting some vitamin D in the sun.
